What a great weekend!

From Dave...(feedback we have gotten was the some people had no idea who was posting until they reached the end of the post - so I will start off each of mine with my name from now on. You're welcome ;-)

The weekend was awesome. After not sleeping Thursday night because I was working on the camper - we got on the road Friday night and arrived around 1:30 am Saturday. The kids both fussed and cried until around 3 am - then finally fell asleep. Then the rain came. It stormed super bad - so bad that several campers had their tents collapse on them and many were forced to move into their vehicle for shelter. It was blowing really hard and the rain came down in torrents. Our camper held up pretty well - but we did have some water come in around the back door and it was dripping through the roof vent to so I was up a lot checking on it to make sure it wasn't getting in too badly. We setup camp Saturday morning and we used Mom's 10x20 screen tent as a camp "daycare" for the girls and Owen which worked out really well. Jeff and I went Jeeping Saturday afternoon and then there was a bbq on Saturday night for all of the Crawl 4 The Cure people. Sunday we got out on the trail by 9 am and didn't get back to camp until 6:45 at night! It was a phenominal day of Jeepin - and Jeff and I both made it through the day without any majoy breakage or problems and we ran some really great trails. Others in the group did not fare so well with one roll-over, 2 broken rear driveshafts, a broken transfer case output, a broken front axleshaft and one sliced tire. I did some exhause mods on a rock that I was later able to remedy with the help of a couple trees - but that is a story for another time. Sunday night was the banquet dinner and I won several raffle prizes so I was a happy camper.

Monday morning Paige and I went trailriding alone and we ran the infamous "Lower Money Talks" trail which was a great time. I admit that I did have to pull my winch cable once to get off of a rock that I had high centered the Jeep on - but other than that we made it through with flying colors. She did really well for her first trail ride - even holding her arms up in the air going down the big hills and shouting "Wheeeeeee!" Around 10:30 we headed back to camp and picked up Addy and Nik and I took the family on a nice mellow ride down some of the easiest trails at the OHV park. We went back for lunch and the long task of packing up the camp in preperation for the trip home. We made it back around 8:30 Monday night with absolutely no trouble from the pickup truck or the Jeep (or the kids!) so the weekend was a great success! I ended up raising $510 in donations for the MS Society of MN and the total amount raised at the event was nearly $20,000 from around 50 participants which is great! Thanks to all who contributed. Happy 4th of July!
