Geez - where has the time gone?

After some friendly reminders from avid blog readers I decided I should post an update here on
"a day in the life of The Liers". It is hard to believe that it is already early March and the longer days of spring will be here in a few short weeks. The girls just keep on growing - both in stature and intellectually - into amazing young ladies.

A couple weeks ago we signed Paige up for full day Kindergarden. She is super excited about it and cant'wait to ride the bus and see what great things she will learn and see as she ventures into "big kid's school". Truth be told - we left the parent's meeting and it was really wierd to think about our little baby going off to kindergarden. She is truly a bright kid and although I am probably really biased I know she is more than ready for it.

Addy Jo is all signed up for pre-school and she too is looking forward to an exiting new experience. Her vocabulary is growing by the day and you can tell that she is really trying hard to put her words together and communicate effectively with everyone around her. Not only is she talking and learning to count, say her ABC's, shapes, colors and other fun things -but she is also trying to learn to go potty like her big sister Paige. We have been trying to encourage her to use the potty chair and it is only a matter of time before we can trade her diapers for the Curious George undies she picked out.

The girls and Nicole seem to be battling a perpertual cold with nasty caughs, runny noses and Addy even had a bad ear infection with a ruptured ear drum. Everyone is in great spirits and just when we think they are getting over it it seems to rear it's ugly head again. They joy of having kids in day care and pre-school!

Nicole and I are now nearly 8 weeks into our "Healthy Loser Weight Loss Challenge" and we have lost a combined total of nearly 35 pounds. We have both been working really hard to stay within our calorie allotment for the day with healthy food choices and exercising at least once a day. I can't speak for Nicole -but I know I am feeling great and looking forward to getting outside for warm weather activities. The group of 12 is doing well and to date has lost more than 150 pounds! Awesome.

Nicole and I are heading across the pond to London England in 10 days. I won this trip through one of the life insurance carriers that I do business with so a very large chunk of the trip is on someone else's dime - nice! We are both looking forward to it since neither of us has been to Europe before. It is a little overwhelming trying to plan a trip around group activities that we are not 100% sure are happening yet - and trying to take in everything in the short time we have over there. (We will be there for about 5 days.) We know we will be riding the Big Red Bus around London, visiting the Tower of London, St. Paul's Catherdral, Westminster Abby and more. They are also taking us to see "Wicked" and out to dinners at Italian, French and English restaraunts. It should be a great time. With the trip fast approaching we are starting to run all over town gathering last minute items that we "need".

Around the house things have been business as usual. We have gotten some things checked off the "to-do" list including painting the laundry room, bathroom, bedroom and even our unfinished basement bathroom that looms over me. I hope to have the bathroom project wrapped up this spring after starting it more than 3 years ago! It is all painted and ready for tile, trim, sink, toilet and some other misc. things. It will be nice to get that done in the near future. Other than that - we are just waiting for spring to get back outside.

Sorry for the long delay - maybe Nicole will chime in with some things I have forgotten to post about?
