I was busy playing pretend with Paige this morning. You know she made me some breakfast of french fries, a doughnut and a lemon. After she cooked the milk in the fridge for me we finished up and she said it was time to sleep. So we crawled in the tunnel she has for a nap but I insisted on a story first. Her reply was "no you weren't listening so you have to go to sleep without a story" - so I pleaded and told her I had been a good mommy all morning. She thought about it and agreed to read me a story before nap. So the story started out "Once upon a time..." The book didn't actually start that way and I got to thinking that not really any of her books start out that way. So where does that come from? I know that there are a few strories that start "Once upon a time" but why does she relate a book or story to that phrase??? It just got me thinking how we relate certain phrases to certain things for no reason really, just because that is the way it is. Hmmm.
Anyway we finished up our nap and took a walk around the living room. Had ourselves a nice little morning of playing pretend. I better get going - I am sure I will have to break out the paints or color crayons next. Have a great day.
