Happy birthday to me.

Well, sorry for the lack of writing last week. I just wanted to leave the Dash up there for a long time for effect I guess. Boring I know but what I had to write about didn't seem all that important at the time.

So it was my 31st birthday on Fri. - Yippee right?! Well I spent the morning at the funeral for the previous post. I did not ever have the pleasure of meeting this person but knew a lot about her from John (her husband who I work with). She seemed to have influenced many, many people in her life - now mine included. One of the things that stuck out at the funeral was the drive she had to stay positive and help other people. She was quoted as saying "I have a choice everyday to be positive and I am going to make that choice every single day." I think that is a great attitude to have.

We went out to dinner at the Fridley Crab house with my parents, the kids, cousin Nate and my grandma. Dave had BAKED me a cake for my birthday, I want to make sure he gets credit so let me say that again Dave BAKED me a cake:) It was very tasty and we still have some leftovers if you want me to prove it. Paige painted me some lovely picture frames that I absolutely adore and will put up in my office. Paige LOVES birthdays and she wanted to debate with me for about a day and a half that it was in fact her birthday not mine. She can't wait to have all her friends over for her party in only 7 months.

Saturday we went to the usual swimming class for Paige, then to Don and Iris's for brunch and more cake. Paige wouldn't eat that cake because it was for my birthday not hers so we took it home for later and she still insists it is my cake not hers. Whatever. Saturday night we went to visit some friends to watch the hockey game. I just like to visit, the guys like to watch.

Sunday we went out to Boca Chica in west st. paul for the brunch. It was very good and very authentic mexican food, not your typical brunch buffet. It was nice to try something new. We stopped at El burito for some tortillas and a sucker for Paige for going #2 (if you know what I mean) at the resturant. That has been a challenge and the sucker is doing the trick - for now anyway. On the way home we stopped at the Humane society to see the animals I think Paige enjoyed it. She is very leary around animals. After that it was home to put on the comfy clothes and veg out the rest of the day in between cleaning up and laundry.

I was glad the festivites were over but Dave now insisted on getting another cake for an office birthday celebration today so after about 3pm today the birthday should be offically over.

I don't know why but my birthday just lost its luster this year, maybe it is because I am 31 or maybe because they really aren't that exciting and I just always thought they were. In the last several years we have taken a trip and this year it was just no big thing. Anyway, happy birthday to me. hmmmm I wonder what this year has in store for me - I really can't wait

I'm usually on said trip with you. So, sorry, but your birthday was kind of a bummer for me this year, too. :-(

Why does everyone think we are having a 3rd baby this year?? Even Paige has been asking for a baby brother. We are pretty busy with the 2.
