Lots going on lately..

First off, we need everyone's prayers. Iris, Dave's stepmother and one of my mother in law's is in the hospital. She has crohn's disease and needed to have a portion of her colon removed. No fun!! But she was very upbeat about it and looking forward to getting it behind her. She was supposed to be in the hospital for 3-5 days. The adventure started last Thursday and she was hoping to go home on Sun. Needless to say she has had some complications and went into emergency surgery on Mon. she is in the ICU at St. John's where she will be very closely monitored and has been in and out of consciousness today. I won't get into all the details because I would like to maintain her privacy. We are all really waiting to see how this plays out and are hoping that she pulls through without a hitch. This turned much more serious then I think we were all hoping it would have. So say some prayers for her.

I had the weekend off from the furniture store and it was very busy. I had a baby shower for my friend Carlene and the only reason that I am mentioning it is because Dave helped me out and decorated the cupcake cake that I was making. I waiting to long to order a cake so I decided to make raspberry filled chocolate cupcakes into a sailboat. Dave decorated for me and did a great job. He also did Paige's birthday cake (Barney) back in August and I don't think I ever posted a picture of that so I will now. He deserves credit and he wanted me to ask around on how many husband would do that.

He came up with the SS Jensen on his own. (Carlene's last name)

We had fun today, a ton of fun actually. Paige has been asking me to go to her class and "volunteer" but with Addy I thought it would be tough and have been waiting until Addy really didn't need her morning nap. So today was the day and we really had fun. I can't believe all the things they do in 2 1/2 hours. They had 2 story times, play time that included several projects to do. They are working on the city and the farm and how they are different. They did lots of dances and activites. I was very impressed and found myself smiling the whole time. Paige was so proud to have us there and Addy was just thrilled with herself to be at her sisters school. All of Paige's classmates were playing with Addy and Addy behaved so well. Here are a few photos from school, I am sure the teachers thought I was crazy taking so many cute pictures, I was just so proud.

They let Addy do everything the other kids did and she loved every minute of it. A few times she seemed to be wondering what was going on. They were listening to animal noises and naming them off and as soon as she would hear a noise she would look around confused where the noises were coming from.

Above in the middle is Paige's friend Lauren, they have been best friends since school started, I also partcipated in story time, it was fun.

Ms. Julie seemed to be testing the kids on the puzzles and I think this is Paige's thinking pose (Left) Oh and I threw in a picture of my snow bunnies too!

Addy had her 18 month checkup and she was 25 lbs 11 oz and 33 in tall. Needless to say she is only about 4-5 inches shorter than Paige and about 5 lbs different. She also had an ear ache and some wheezing but were working on that.

You can click on the pictures to see them larger if you want. This is a long post and I am pooped!

I'm so sorry to hear about Iris's complications. I really hope everything turns out ok and we'll keep her in our thoughts.
