Food for thought..hmmmm

Birthday

I was listening to the radio today and they were talking about birthdays. They thought that Golden Birthdays must be a Minnesota or midwest thing because they had not heard of them before coming to Minnesota. I thought it was interesting because I have always waited to celebrate my golden birthday and thought it was a big event in my life. We even took a trip to Mexico to celebrate it (pre baby days..ahhh). Dave had never heard of it before coming to Minnesota from New Jersey. I thought he was nuts and must have just missed something - apparently not. So I got to thinking my kids have significant golden birthdays. Adelynn was born on the 18th of the month. We picked her date to be induced but I had not considered the whole golden birthday thing otherwise I may have picked a different day. I will worry that she stays safe on her big golden birthday. Paige was born on the 30th so she has quite some time to wait for her "big day" but your 30th birthday is a big birthday in itself so she should have a great golden. Thought it was an interesting topic and made me think. What about your golden?

Is it solar?

This made me laugh. I bought my dad a new calculator for the office since he seems to keep losing them. Where do they go??? It is just your basic cheap calculator that was hanging at the checkout. His first question was, "Is it solar?". I had to look at him funny since when is a calculator not solar anymore??

That is interesting - I always heard about golden birthdays growing up. Mine was my 23rd. We were still in Winona - and it was crazy. There were a couple of Pat's fraternity friends who had January b-days, too... so we rented out the basement of this bar and had a huge party. Let's just say - looking back, I'm probably lucky to be alive. Yikes. I wrote out a check to buy another keg... and the next day, I couldn't even read my writing on the duplicate! I'm lucky they cashed it for the right amount! Ahh... memories. :) Josie's will be the 19th... and I agree with you - I'll worry about her!
