**Update - we have close to 20 people signed up for challenge 2 - CRAZY!
if you want in - contact me ASAP, today is starting day! nicolel@workmanfinancial.com
As most of you know Dave and I did started a healthy loser blog in January – 12 people joined and it was very successful our group lost 204.7 pounds!!! The winner of our contest was a gal who lost 34 pounds (in 12 weeks) and walked away with $270! And beat Dave! – who lost 30 pounds – you should see him, he is skinny.
There are several of us that need to lose some more weight and we have decided to start another contest!! The moral and motivation is awesome and really keeps you on track!
Many of you have expressed interest in joining if we did another contest – so here you go. Spring is here – what better time!!!
The more the merrier, if you know someone who would benefit – send this to them too!
If you are interested in learning more – checking out the sight before you commit or anything contact me ASAP, I will give you access to check it out. Don’t be shy, this has really been fun and we have gotten to know some great people.
The thing is we are starting tomorrow – we don’t want to wait any longer to get losing!!!!
Here are some details that were posted on our healthy loser blog…
New contest starting tomorrow, Wednesday April 23rd.
Weigh yourself in the morning - first thing and report in every Wednesday.
The fee will be $25 again
It will be 10 weeks, final weigh in will be July 2nd!
This will bring us through spring and into summer, so we can all stay on track and keep losing!!!
Here are my thoughts and what we are going to do.
1. There will be a First, Second and Third place winner - depending on how many people there are, the third place winner will at least get there entrance fee back. Amounts will be determined once we have everyone in.
The winners will be determined by percentage of weight loss - so it remains as far as possible for everyone. For new people - it was never required to disclose your weight, however everyone here did and it really is the best to just get it out there, we will update the spreadsheet every week with your weight loss. We promise - no one will judge you!!!
2. There will be prizes through out the competition - but here's the catch. We will probably need donations from all the participants. I do not think there will be enough money to have 3 winners plus prizes throughout unless we have people kick in some prizes. Last time the prizes were $10 or less. They could be anything that you feel would be motivational for people to push harder for the week (Workout videos, cooking supplies, books, gift certificates, etc) and again will go to the biggest loser of the week. Please let me know if you will be willing to add a prize for a week. I will be giving a prize!
3. I would also like to assign people a week to post up informational items for the week including recipes, fitness, articles of food, even challenges if you wish, etc. I think we all have a lot to offer and would like to tap into everyone else's brain and insight - so we can continue to help each other. We all have a little different perspective on things and I think it would be helpful to share. Once you sign up I will assign you a week, if you cannot or do not wish to participate in this option then let me know right away. You can post here or email me at nicolel@workmanfinancial.com.
4. If you want to continue to weigh in you will need to enter the contest. If you are in maintance mode and are not entering for that reason you can continue to weigh in and the spreadsheet will be updated. I have given this some thought and I really feel that this sight was created to motivate us all and it was started as a contest to challenge yourselves as others. This is about commitment and support. I will not turn off any logins to the sight so you can continue to read here and get support, even feel free to comment if you would like. However, in order for us to keep it fair to the people that are in the contest and not confusing for anyone, you must pay in and be apart of the contest to stay updated on the spreadsheet and post your weigh in every week.
5. Please review your original goals when you started this contest, even link to that post. Create a post updating your goals for this contest, maybe talk about what you have and haven't accomplished and how you are going to get there. You can either put up new pictures or link to some that are representative of your starting point.
If you are new, tell us about yourself - what are your goals and challenges, your family, etc. You will need to post before pictures of yourself and from those of us that did it the first time, we wish we would have taken more revealing pictures, you will be able to see you progress better the more you show - so don't wear big baggy clothes for the before pictures and do front, side and rear shots.
Same rules apply before. This is on your honor and we have to trust that everyone weighs in constantly and is truthful about each weigh in. I was so impressed with the last contest that everyone weighed in every week whether the news was good or bad. This is so much more than a contest it is about accepting yourself and doing better for yourself. Learning to leave the past behind and create a new future.
Also go back and review the eating and exercising guidelines, or if you are new, check out the biggest loser guidelines. - this is where you see me :)
Dr. Phil says the only predictor of future behavior is past behavior and the only way to change the future is to create a new past - so here we go that is what we are doing here - creating new pasts for a better future.
