Congratulations Nik!

I wanted to take this rare occassion to blog after Nicole successfully completed the 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer this past weekend. Nice job Nik!

I read her blog from earlier today and she just continues to impress me with her sincerity and passion. Nicole really worked hard to raise all of her money, prepare her body and her mind for the walk - and finally to complete the 60 miles virtually trouble free. I wanted to also thank everyone who helped her out this year with motional support and/or donations of money, garage sale goods or time. I know Nicole appreciated all of it. As they said at yesterday's closing ceremonies, "You probably won't get cheered on walking across an intersection tomorrow! And you probably won't hear any "thanks" when you walk in to your office." We all need to think carefully about the people that take the time and put forth the effort to raise awareness for important causes like the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and thank them for their efforts. You never know how you and your loved ones might be effected by the fruits of all these efforts.

To date the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has raised nearly $1 Billion to help fight breast cancer. That is $1,000,000,000! This year's 2500+ walkers in the Twin Cities 3-Day Walk raised approximately $6.5 Million. What a tremendous effort! Congratulations!

Here is a picture that was in the Anoka County Shopper from the walk:
